Competitive beach volleyball tournaments are hosted by four different associations, each requiring membership fee as well as tournament fees in order to compete.
California Beach Volleyball Association (CBVA)
Organizer of youth and adult tournaments from Santa Cruz to San Diego.
USA Volleyball (USAV)
Offers a competitive youth program with accredited coaches, summer/winter camps, and feeder teams for the USA National team based on try-out assessment.
American Amateur Union (AAU)
In the past few years, have established high school leagues for beach volleyball based near Malibu. Also run camps/ tournaments for youth beach volleyball.
Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP)
A tour of the highest level players competing against each other for cash prizes. VERY inspirational! The new schedule is not out yet, but usually they hold an event in Santa Barbara in September.
