Since the dawn of time, Tyson has refined his volleyball expertise and channeled his talents to coaching the future of Central Coast Volleyball. He was an all-star middle blocker at Mira Mesa High School in San Diego before moving on to Division 1 NCAA volleyball at UC San Diego, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Urban Planning with a minor in Environmental Science.
At UCSD, his accolades included being a two-year team captain, Small College All American, UCSD Athlete of the Year, and NCAA All American honorable mention. After college, Tyson competed in beach volleyball tournaments earning his "AAA" rating and even qualified in 1996 for the Main Draw- AVP Manhattan Open. He then continued his volleyball career in Germany where he played both indoor and beach volleyball professionally until 2001 when he retired from playing and moved to Arroyo Grande to start his professional career as Mortgage Loan Officer with US Bank. Tyson still plays competitively, but also for fun and with his family - both his kids and wife all play beach volleyball too!

Tyson's coaching style is all about mastering the fundamentals and focusing on the details. He hopes to help others learn to love the game he has loved his whole life by using positive motivation to ignite a passion for the game and have fun spending time with his kids and their friends as they learn and grow in the sport of beach volleyball. When Tyson is not on the volleyball courts you can find him surfing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, or playing tennis.

Trey Tamaki
During his Sophomore year of High School, Trey decided to give volleyball a shot. His first year was spent on Junior Varsity, and the following 2 years were spent as an outside hitter on Varsity. Trey continued to play volleyball as a middle through college at SBCC. There, he expanded his athletic career with beach volleyball by obtaining his first AA CBVA rating. After achieving his associates in Kinesiology, Trey transferred to Long Beach State University where he assisted the 2019 Men's Volleyball National Championship team.
After graduation with a Degree in Kinesiology and Sports Psychology, Trey endorsed the traditional philosophy of training the mind so that the body may follow. As a mental skills specialist, he capitalizes on conquering doubt, fear and other barriers to unlock the exhibition of an athlete's maximum potential.

Amanda richardson-fritch
Amanda has been passionate about beach volleyball since the summer of '98, her junior year of High School. She learned to play in Pismo Beach, by jumping into games with any seasoned player that would have her. Eventually she worked her way up to a AAA ranking, playing competitively in CBVA opens for several years, and even winning a few tournaments here and there. Volleyball continues to be a fulfilling recreation on weekends, satisfying a need for exercise, social time, competition and balanced mental health. She is looking forward to coaching, with hopes that she can share this lifelong joy and passion with the next generation of young athletes.

Curtis Abram
Curtis Abram has been running the PBVBC ELITE program since 2020, and brings with him over 14-years of playing and coaching experience. Abram, raised in SLO and an attorney at Attala Law, learned to play volleyball at Pismo Beach and transferred these skills into a rewarding run as a high-school, college and post-college volleyball player.
As an outside hitter, Abram led San Luis Obispo High School to three-straight league titles, was selected a two-time League Most Valuable Player and was named All-CIF (Southern Section) his senior year.
Abram then attended Emmanuel College (MA), where during his senior year, Abram led the Saints to a program-best 28 wins and a 3rd-straight NECVA Tournament appearance. Abram finished the year ranked 2nd nationally in service aces (0.83 per set), 5th in kills (4.27 per set), and 9th in hitting percentage (.342), while leading the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in both aces and kills. Abram was selected GNAC Player of the Year and AVCA Men’s Volleyball All-American, becoming the first male All-American in the school’s history.

Dylan has been playing a variety of sports her entire life and started playing competitive volleyball in Seal Beach, CA when she was in High School. Throughout her time attending Cal Poly SLO, she played Women’s Club Indoor Volleyball where her team ranked 3rd in the nation. Also, she was a coach for the Junior Varsity Team at Morro Bay High School.
While Dylan always enjoys to bring out her competitive side, she finds volleyball - and all sports - to be a fun outlet and brings this energy to coaching. If you don’t find her playing volleyball with friends, you’ll find Dylan traveling, surfing, or skiing!

emmaliese dingman
Emmaliese grew up in San Diego, CA, always involved in a variety of sports. She played on the indoor volleyball team through High School and continued with club teams in college. While in college, she turned her focus to beach volleyball, and enjoyed training and competing in MB. After graduating from UCSD and working out of state, she’s excited to be back in CA playing and supporting new beach players
Elysa Romanini
Elysa grew up playing indoor volleyball and played competitively through the end of High School. Once she got to Cal Poly in 2019, she made the switch to beach volleyball when she joined the women’s club beach volleyball team, which she is still a part of. She will be graduating from Cal Poly this Spring, but is excited to be back to coach her second season with Pismo Beach Volleyball Club!
izzy martinez
Izzy is from Winnetka, CA. Graduating High School from Chaminade in West Hills, CA, she has now found herself playing as a Sophomore on the Women's Beach Volleyball Team for Cal Poly, SLO. She was a first team all American in 2024 and a Big West Pair of the year. She has played beach volleyball for 9 years and played for MBsand Beach Volleyball Club. She loves working with kids and enjoys sharing her love of volleyball with others!
kalee Graff
Kalee grew up in San Diego, CA playing for Wave Beach Volleyball Club. At 16, she committed to play D1 beach volleyball for Cal Poly under 2008 Gold Medal Olympian, Coach Todd Rogers. She predominately competed at the 4 and 5 positions. Kalee coached Cal Poly's club team and San Luis Obispo's High School team. After graduating in 2022, she became the assistant beach volleyball coach for Loyala University, New Orleans while pursuing her Master's in Marketing. She's back on the Central Coast recovering from shoulder surgery but hopes to renew her AAA rating this Summer!

Kapri espinoza
Kapri grew up on the Central Coast and has been an athlete her whole life. She began playing volleyball in middle school following 7 years of gymnastics. Falling in love instantly with beach volleyball, she knew it was something that she wanted to pursue. Playing volleyball all throughout High School, she had also participated in playing with PBVC for 3 of those years. Teaching and coaching players, and seeing them have so much fun in a sport that she loves, is the most rewarding experience and is something that she is so excited to continue! She spent all her years in High School learning the "ins" and "outs" to beach volleyball from her Father, who was her beach volleyball coach. She is super excited to pass on that knowledge to her future players! She currently is a student at Arizona Christian University, where she is studying to become a Physical Education so that she can become a teacher and great volleyball coach in the future!
Kate Yarbrough
Kate has been coaching indoor volleyball since 2003, beach volleyball since 2006, and working with PBVBC since moving to the Central Coast in 2016. She was a two year captain and starting setter on her High School varsity volleyball team, followed by a season of Junior College volleyball at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. She fell in love with beach volleyball while attending UC San Diego where she graduated with a B.S. in Ecology in 2008. Since moving to the Central Coast, she has coached for 805 Elite Volleyball Club, Flight Academy Volleyball Club, Arroyo Grande Girls Beach Volleyball Club Team, Cal Poly Women's Club Volleyball Team, and currently is the Girls Varsity Volleyball head coach at Morro Bay High School. Kate believes her most valuable coaching tools are giving positive feedback, providing high repetitions, and modeling a true love of the game!

Jenny started playing volleyball in 1989 at Thousand Oaks High School. Her freshman year she
earned the most improved player award and the very next year earned the most valuable player
award. She played for Zuma Bay Volleyball Club and won All Tournament Player at 16 in the
Lone Star Tournament in Texas for the most blocks as a 5”9’ middle blocker. Jenny then played
at Moorpark College where she earned Most valuable Player her second second year. Jenny
started playing beach volleyball when she was 15 years old, playing in some CBVA tournaments
in southern California.
After playing at Moorpark College she moved to Manhattan Beach so that she
could play beach volleyball with some of the best players.
Her coaching career started at Westlake High School coaching the freshman girls team. She
then coached for a club in Calabasas before moving to Manhattan Beach. In Manhattan Beach
she coached beach volleyball for adults that were new to the sport.
After moving around the country and having 4 kids she returned to coaching in 2021 at Los
Osos Middle School. There she coaches both the girls and boys teams and runs clinics year
round. In the 2 years she has been coaching there, the boys team went from not winning any
games to finishing 8-1. More importantly though, she is sharing her love and passion for
volleyball with her community.

Luca kerr
Luca is currently a third year Agricultural Business Student at Cal Poly. He has been playing volleyball for 10 years on the beach and 6 years indoors. Luca currently plays for the Cal Poly Men's Indoor Club team as well as the Cal Poly Men's Beach Team. He has been coached by former National team player Dave Rottman as well as his Father, Tyson Kerr, who played as a D1 Athlete at UCSD and Professionally over seas for four years. Being mentored over the years by many local AVP and CBVA open level players throughout the years, he's earned his AAA rating on the CBVA Tour this year.

Mariah Whalen
Mariah has been with PBVBC since 2020 and comes with impressive playing and coaching experience! She plays beach volleyball on the NCAA Division 1 team at Cal Poly after transferring from the University of Wisconsin indoor team. She has coached both indoor and beach for top level programs including the University of Wisconsin volleyball camps, Coast Volleyball Club in San Diego, and Tamarack Volleyball Club in San Diego. Mariah is a very cerebral player and coach; she believes it's most important to understand each player's learning style so she can give the best instruction to each individual. She loves having fun playing volleyball and making practices fun for her players!

Michael ("Mikey") grew up locally along the Central Coast. He played soccer since he was 6 years old and started to play volleyball in Middle School at Paulding. There, he continued to play soccer, indoor and beach volleyball at Arroyo Grande High School until graduating in 2019. He currently plays for the Men's Club Soccer team at Cal Poly and is on track to graduate in the Spring of 2023 with a degree in Environmental Management and Protection. He assisted coaching for the Arroyo Grande's Men Beach Volleyball Club for 2 years and this will be his 3rd year coaching for Pismo Beach Volleyball Club. Mikey's coaching focus is on technique and basics which he feels can always be improved upon and applied at any level, from first-time beginner to the most competitive playing environment.
Mitch Siemens
Mitch played beach volleyball for over 20 years. He regularly participated in CBVA B, A, and AA tournaments up and down the California coast. In doing so, he was able to achieve a AA rating. He then took his AA rating to be the Head Coach of the Arroyo Grande High school Boys Beach Volleyball Club team for 3 seasons and Assisted the same team for one season.

Corissa started playing sports at an early age. Throughout the years, she played competitive softball, basketball and soccer. Corissa was an elite athlete on her Santa Barbara Club Soccer team and dedicated her life to the sport. However, her husband's love and passion for volleyball inspired her to become a part of the volleyball community. She loves to spend time at the beach and hiking.
Following in Su's footsteps, she strives to become an excellent coach, compassionate Director of the PBVC and to spread the knowledge of health and athletics to others.

Su Campbell, Former director
Su Campbell has been playing and or coaching volleyball for over 25 years, she has been Director of the Pismo Beach Volleyball club since 2014-2023. She is passionate about growing the game of volleyball and has played and attended volleyball tournaments from Oregon down to Southern California. She, along with her husband started the Boys Arroyo Grande High School Beach team. In her spare time you can find her playing beach volleyball, surfing, camping and running with her dog.
